LESSON 2 / LECON 2 :

LESSON 3 / LECON 3 :

In this new lesson, you will study two texts:
"L'Amitié" from Jean de la Fontaine
and
"L'Amour d'Autrui" d'Andrieux.

L'Amitié
Qu'un véritable ami est une douce chose !
a true friend is a soft thing !
Il cherche vos besoins au fond de votre coeur,
He looks after your needs inside your heart
Il vous épargne la pudeur
De les lui découvrir vous-même.
he saves you from the shame to show him your needs
Un songe, un rien, tout lui fait peur
Quand il s'agit de ce qu'il aime
a dream, something, everything scares him
when it concerns the one that he loves

Chacun se dit ami, mais fou qui s'y repose;
everybody says "I am a friend'", but wild is the one who believes it
Rien n'est plus commun que le nom,
Rien n'est plus rare que la chose.
The name is so common; the thing is really rare.
by LA FONTAINE

L'Amour d'Autrui
Vivre en soi, ce n'est rien : il faut vivre en autrui.
To live for yourself is nothing, you have to live for someone else.
"A qui puis-je être utile, agréable aujourd'hui ?"
Can I help someone today ?
Voilà chaque matin ce qu'il faudrait se dire;
Every morning, you should ask this question.
Et le soir, quand des cieux la clarté se retire,
And the night, when the light leaves the sky,
Heureux à qui son coeur tout bas a répondu :
Happy is the one who can reply :
"Ce jour qui va finir, je ne l'ai pas perdu;
Grâce à mes soins, j'ai vu sur une face humaine,
La trace d'un plaisir ou l'oubli d'une peine".
This day which will finish, I don't lost it;
Because of myself, I have seen on an human face,
The sign of a pleasure or the end of a trouble
Que la société porterait de doux fruits,
Si par de tels pensers* nous étions tous conduits!
The society will have soft fruits if we have this kind of thought
by ANDRIEUX
* old french; in a modern french "de telles pensées"

LESSON 4 / LECON 4 :

SPECIAL : FAITES L'AMOUR, PAS LA GUERRE:

MAKE LOVE, NOT THE WAR

Je vais vous dire un truc...
Faites l'amour, pas la guerre.
Viens ici chéri(e)
On va faire l'amour, ouai*...

Faire l'amour, je suis d'accord
Mais trop boire, il ne faut pas!

* from the word "oui" (yes). It can be translated by "yeah".

LESSON 5 / LECON 5 :

Conjugaison du verbe PARLER au présent de l'indicatif, au passé composé et au futur.

The "passé composé/composed past" can be translate in english by the PAST TENSE or the form "TO HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE" or "TO BE + PAST PARTICIPLE".
